Mary Berelson’s debut novel, Bicentennial Summer, was inspired by a real-life road trip she took during America’s 1976 Bicentennial and reimagined through the lens of fiction. Before becoming an author, she spent 25 years teaching kindergarten and first grade, followed by five years leading middle school technology classes. Now retired and living in Tennessee, she enjoys writing, music, gardening, quilting, and the joyful adventures of grandmotherhood.
