Hi! I'm Frances Rivetti and I'm a British American freelance writer and author, based in beautiful Sonoma County, Northern California. The history and bounty of coastal California and inland, pioneer farm and wine country regions inspire my non-fiction and fiction work. Pacific highway and backroad rambles lead me from the present to the past along the stunning, jagged edge of the western world, uncovering and creating stories along the way. I'm fascinated by those who came before — from the region's First People, to the early pioneer settlers and the colorful cast of characters who populate Northern California today. I'm interested in historic sites and homes and the stories they contain. I primarily write fiction with strong female protagonists, though my stories have proven to appeal to a wide range of readers.I was born and raised in the Fenland region of East Anglia, England, which is where I trained as a provincial newspaper reporter. Growing up off-the-beaten-track of England's tourist trail taught me how its often the most tucked-away settings that unearth the richest stories. When I'm in-between stories, I love to travel, most frequently back to the UK, hike, cook, read and spend quality time with my husband, three grown sons and family pets.
